Family Violence Lease Termination Request

We received your request

Your lease termination request and court order were submitted. Our team will reach out to you.

We will not send a confirmation email. For your safety, we don't email a confirmation because someone else may be able to see your inbox.

If you'd like a record of this request, take a screenshot of this screen now.

Georgia law lets you end your lease early if a court has issued a family violence order protecting you or your minor child.

  • You give us 30 days' written notice. This form is your written notice.
  • You must attach a copy of the court order: a civil family violence order (protective order) or a criminal family violence order.
  • Your lease ends at least 30 days after you submit this form. If you need more time, you can choose a later end date. You owe rent through that date, prorated if needed. Early-termination penalties don't apply.
  • The whole lease ends, not just your part of it. Anyone else on the lease who wants to stay must apply, pay a deposit, and sign a new lease.

If you are in danger right now, call 911. You can reach the Georgia Domestic Violence Hotline 24 hours a day at 1-800-334-2836.
